Christmas Detox Retreat 2019/2020
with Stefania Maria Bernet
About the retreat
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences that developed together and repeatedly influenced each other throughout history. Together they form an ideal system for optimal health, vitality and higher awareness. Yoga is first and foremost seen as a science of self-realization while Ayurveda is primarily a science of self healing aimed at relieving the diseases of body and mind. During these 12 days we would like to practically experience the magic of the connection of these two healing traditions. We detoxify and rejuvenate our physical body through proper nutrition, medical herbs, asana, pranayama and meditation in order to let our life force –prana – flow freely. A process of purification and relaxation, of letting go, recovering and strengthening. Stefania will guide you through the morning meditation and pranayama exercises, followed by a yoga-asana-practice with slow and detoxifying movements as well as strengthening and rejuvenating flows that will optimally support the healing process. After the Yoga practice and a traditional south Indian breakfast the doctors Vydhya Sathish Pillai or Vydhya Sanish Pillai will treat you with Ayurvedic therapy. The brothers individually compose the various therapeutic massages, as well as the clarifying medical herbs according to your body condition.
Ayurveda with brothers
The two doctors Sathish and Sanish Pillai have grown up in an Ayurvedic family and their knowledge has its roots in the traditional „Ayurveda Kalari Yoga Group“ of Kerala. Their grandfather Ashta Vydhya (Marmani) Kuttan Pillai, a great Ayurvedic Kalari, Marma und Mantra healing artist, formed the „Ayurvedic Vydhya Traditional Group“ and passed his mastery on to his sons and thereinafter to his grandchildren the brothers Vydhya Satish Pillai, Vydhya Sanish Pillai and their sister Shajini Pillai. Brothers themselves produce all the organic herbal medicine that is used in the treatments. Years of experience, inherited knowledge, compassion and expertise in traditional Ayurvedic methods still form the basis for all Brothers Ayurveda treatments. Unique South Indian all-vegetarian meals are provided, prepared with love and meditative power.

Stefania Maria Bernet:
In her childhood Stefania came into contact with meditation and pranayama, thanks to her teacher Selvarajan Yesudian. Years later, durig her education at drama school, she became acquainted with the physical aspect of Yoga.
Guided by an open heart and curious mind she completed different Teacher Trainings, as the Bikram Training with Bikram Chondhury, a Vinyasa Training with Carol Murphy, she studied to become a Medical Yoga Coach at the German Medical School in Berlin, further education in Thai-Yoga-massage, she attended numerous immersions with her long-standing Hatha Yoga teachers Stephen Thomas and Noah McKenna and continuing further education in Pranayama and meditation with Shri O.P. Tiwari.
In class Stefania values healthy alignment of the body, as well as a heartfelt and kind inner attitude. “I love it to playfully explore the boarders between softness and intensity and to walk people back home to body, breath and heart. The conscious heart, the nature is my teacher; from heart, from nature, is the place from where I learn, act, play and teach.”
